My ideal job...

Hi all! today I´m going to talk about my ideal work and in this time I want to tell something other than what I wrote in the previous blog, about my "dream job" to talk more about my option to work with alternative medicine....
To start I tell you that my really ideal job would be have a place where I could apply the alternative medicine in the childbird and the pregnant process to help to mother, her baby and her family.
The reason because I will want to apply the medicine alternative in my profession is because I often think this a really interesting way to change the vision of the childbird and the general use of the medicine.
Well, it is clear that a lot can happen between now and the end of the race and my vision may change, and also I have to learn about how I can make more natural the process, all this during the years that I study.
Also, I would like to learn from other cultures, for example Mapuche culture, in order to complement knowledge and apply in my future work as a professional to have a broader visions of what I can do as a midwife.
The difficult part of this history is to get money to open my "alternative center", for this reason, To get money, before I have to work in something related with my carreer and also gain experience and wisdom.
I will like also do a post-title in neonathology, in university of Chile, because I really like it and I have the disposition and the effort to do many things.
To finish I hope that my ideal job can help people because it is my vocation and I love what I'll do in the future.

My free time...

Hi all! Today i’m going to talk about my free time.

Well, for starters I'll tell you that since I entered university my free time is very few, however, the few free time that I have, I try to take advantage of the best way possible, doing things that I like do, things that relax me and that make me forget the stress and all the things that I do for university.

Among the things that more I enjoy doing in my free time is stay with my friends and take advantage of that time with them the more possible.

In the university I became very good friends, and it's nice to share with them because they help me to distraction and spend pleasant moments that I enjoy. However, I miss so much my friends who are not in my university, because it's very little that I see them and really I would like to see them more often and that we can do many things as in the summer when we all have free time :)

Recently the "free time" has been an issue for me, especially because I realized that I stopped doing many things that were previously handled by the short time I have. That is why I look forward to vacation, especially to see the people that miss.

Education and Prevention in my Profession...

Hi! Today I'm going to talk about education and prevention in my profession.
To begin, I will discuss health issues in education, is an example of education on nutrition, which in my profession is important to promote proper feeding for people, especially women during pregnancy, to prevent complications for the fetus and for their personal welfare.

The prevention of adverse situations that may affect health is really important and also to emphasize the risk factors for developing various diseases and disorders that impair the well-being of the persons. An example of midwives related to ways of prevention is "prenatal control", where are seeks to prevent complications during pregnancy to promote maternal and fetal health, in this control are including the maternal education in various aspects for example breastfeeding and the importance that this have for the proper food of the future baby.

As midwives the education that we make is focused mainly on women, however, as health professionals our role is educate the entire community to promote good health and prevent diseases, such as sexually transmitted diseases, educating to the population sexually active about methods to prevent this diseases.

Finally, it is important to note that especially in Chile, despite having many tools to learn, has a major flaw in health care, a clear example is the high rate of obesity in our country. For these reasons we emphasize educating to the persons about how to lead a healthy life and thus be able to prevent both obesity and others various situations, that in the case of our work as midwives especially affects pregnant patients because they are exposes to risk to affect to the new life to come in way and also her health.

Gender role in health care...

Actually, both in the area of health, and society in general, the differences between the genders, have been declining, largely because women entered the labor area. It is for this reason that when talking about the role of women in health care, it is increasingly common for women to form an important and essential part in different functions which were previously excluded.

In the case of the tasks carried out by women or men midwives in health care, there is no great difference between both, beyond the quantitative difference, ie, that clearly there are more women than men midwives , because is a career in which the main responsibilities are related care of women in the reproductive process, including pregnancy, childbirth and postpartum care in addition to newborns.

I'm not aware if the midwives man have a bigger salary than women, however, I have understood that the man are most requested, the reason, I have not very clear, but some believed the man is more delicate with woman patient, however,in my opinion this is very general and subjective, and relate it more than men to be lower are most requested.

Within the health team, consider that as midwives, both men and women, have a similar and equitable development, unlike other professionals such as doctors, where women and men if they have differences, being the reverse case what happens with midwives, because they have more professional men than women, even though the woman is as capable as men, some medical specialties, such as cardiology, proportion of men and women is very uneven, where the mayority is man.
